1. Make homemade ice cream.
2. Have a movie marathon. During the craziness of summer, it's nice to slow down and take a day to just relax. Pick a series, genre, or group of flicks you've been wanting to see for a while, grab the popcorn, and hit the couch!
3. Take a drive. Get out of the house and take a drive.
4. Go to the farmers market and buy a new fruit that you've never tried.
5. Go to a thrift store and pick out an outfit for each other to get. Wear it out on your date to dinner, movie, etc.

1. Portable Drive-In - Take a laptop, and a movie and drive somewhere in town and watch a movie, or do this is your backyard.
2. Camping in the living room (build a fort, set up a tent, light your fire in your fireplace, enjoy an evening on the floor with your love)
3. Play restaurant with another couple. Plan ahead with a friend and swap favors. Make dinner for a couple you know and serve them by candlelight. Make it a special night for them. Then have your friends take their turn the next week.
4. Sing like a star. If you have a PlayStation, you might want to try a night of Sing Star. It's competitive Karaoke, and it's fun! If you don't have a PlayStation, you can still sing like a star with an old Karaoke machine or an acoustic guitar.
5. Go country dancing!

1. Watch fireworks. Check your city and surrounding cities for their schedule for the 4th as well as the City Days.

3. Go Ice Blocking - take a block of ice you get at the grocery store (or you can make your own), place a towel on top, go to the top of a grassy hill, and head down like you're on a sled!

June 24, 2016 - Date Ideas
1. Go to a carnival. Share a bag of popcorn, hop on a couple of rides and enjoy each other's company! This can be pricey if you don't watch how you spend, but it can be affordable if you're simply grabbing an ice cream and taking in one ride or two.
2. Play a Board Game. If you buy a new board game, it's a one-time purchase that might cost you a bit the first time, but you'll have it for years to come. You could also check out thrift stores for games, but make sure you check inside the box for the pieces.
3. Go out for dessert. You don't have to go out for dinner in order to have a night out-unless you want to of course. You can enjoy each other's company at a coffee shop enjoying a tea and dessert for a fraction of the cost.
4. Relax by the fire. Depending on the weather, you can either get cozy inside with a cup of hot chocolate or enjoy a bonfire outside.
5. Get Cooking. Plan a menu and cook something together. Try a new recipe that you haven't cooked before.

2. Have a spa night. If your significant other probably isn't into manicures or pedicures, you could try massages, bubble baths, etc. You can buy some white towels and robes to make it really official.
3. Restaurant hop. Go to a different restaurant for each course of the meal. Make three stops for an appetizer, main course and dessert.
4. Cuddle on the couch and reminisce about "remember when", telling your favorite stories of when you first started dating.

1. Have a coupon date. Only eat or do activities you have coupons for.

2. Theme night. Pick a theme for the night and center everything on it. For example, Mexican night - you could eat Mexican food and go salsa dancing.
3. Video Game Night at home. Pick a game one or both of you likes or even a new game and try to beat it together.
4. Skittles bowling - Get Skittles (or another variety of color treat). For each color, assign a way to bowl (i.e. backwards, non-dominate hand, etc.). Before you go to bowl, pick a Skittle and that's how you have to bowl that frame.
5. Go to the book store and look at travel books, and then plan your dream vacation.

1. Have a "crazy dinner." Each person gets $5 (or whatever amount you decide) to spend on any food item at the grocery store for dinner. Come home and prepare your meal.
2. Go to a local sporting event.
3. Have TV show marathon. Pick a show you both like or one you've never seen and have a marathon of the season (or series!). Pop the popcorn and relax together!
4. Volunteer. Sign up to volunteer at a soup kitchen, retirement home or somewhere that could use a helping hand!
5. Take some lessons. Try taking a lesson for a couple's dance, pottery or a cooking class!

3. Go see a play. Whether at your local community theater, high school or a big production, there is plenty of entertainment available!
4. Write a list of 20 questions to ask each other before your date. As you go to dinner or relax at home, take turns asking each other questions. They could be silly or serious. You can find ideas online. This is a great way to learn more about your partner and to stimulate good conversation (or to start a conversation if you get tripped up on things to talk about on dates).
